You’d be surprised to know exactly how your energy makes it into your home. A monopolized delivery company supplies energy to each region in Texas. In Dallas-Ft. Worth that company is TXU Electric Delivery. In Houston, it is CenterPoint Energy. And so on. What this means is regardless of whom your retail electric provider is, the EXACT SAME delivery company transmits your electricity to you. THAT’S THE DIRTY SECRET.
These monopolized delivery companies do everything BUT send you your bill...and selecting who sends you your bill is YOUR choice…that’s where you can save money.
Depending on where you live, you might have several energy providers to choose from: TXU Energy (who is NOT same company as TXU Electric Delivery…see above), Reliant Energy, Cirro Energy, Gexa Energy, Green Mountain Energy, First Choice Power, Direct Energy, Constellation Energy and Stream Energy/Ignite just to name a few.
